Peninsula Packaging Group in Wellington have once again donated 300 sheets of cardboard for the ‘Big Sleep Out’ event. This is organised by the Taunton Association for the Homeless (TAH), it is a fundraising / awareness day, where people can experience what it’s like to sleep rough for a night.
The TAH has evolved since the 1970s with the support of the community and Somerset County Council. In 1980, they opened a 12-bed night shelter, and over the years they have expanded their services and property portfolio to become one of the largest providers of specialist housing for single homeless people in the Southwest of England.
The TAH now have a team of around 50 staff members, and support over 350 people per year within their 16 properties. It’s a very worthwhile cause in our local community and we’re proud to support it.
